We live in a world that often measures our value by what we do, fix, or produce. So much so that even in moments of love and care, our instinct is often to ask: What can I do to help?
But lately, Iāve been reminded of something quieter. Something softer. That sometimes, healing doesnāt come from doing. It comes from being.
Not long ago, I spent an afternoon with Gibby, my dog nephew. Heās been going through something, and thereās a tenderness in the air around him. As an animal communicator and energy worker, itās natural for me to want to helpāto listen deeply, to offer healing, to somehow ease the path.
But on this day, Gibby didnāt need anything from me except my presence.
So we sat.
The sun was warm. The breeze gentle. We shared a patch of earth without words or expectations. And in that space, I found myself quietly wanting to experience the world the way heĀ was experiencing itāfrom the ground, close to the grass, attuned to scent and sound, the tiniest details of the moment.
That choice to be with himānot as a helper, not as a healer, but simply as a companionāchanged the tone of everything. A stillness settled in. A deeper connection opened. Not because I reached for it, but because I stopped reaching.
Animals have a way of teaching us this over and over again. They donāt expect us to have all the answers. They donāt need us to carry every burden. They simply ask us to show upāfully, truthfully, as ourselves.
So if your animal is going through something... or if youĀ are... consider this an invitation.
Take a few minutes to sit with them. No phone. No fixing. No agenda. Just the rhythm of your breath and the presence of your heart.
I wonder, āWhat might shift if you gave yourself permission to simply beāwith your animal, with the earth, with yourself?ā
